Attorney Jordan E. Burke concentrates his practice in the areas of labor law, employment discrimination, personal injury, and civil rights litigation. His experience includes successfully representing clients in the District and Superior Courts of Massachusetts, the Massachusetts Appeals Court, and the United States District Court (District of Massachusetts and the District of New Hampshire). He has also represented clients in cases in front of various state agencies including the Massachusetts Civil Service Commission, the Division of Labor Relations, the Division of Administrative Law Appeals, and the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination. Attorney Burke has achieved outstanding results for his clients in litigation, arbitration, collective bargaining, and various forms of dispute resolution.
Representative Cases and Matters
- Weinburgh v. Civil Service Commission, 72 Mass.App.Ct. 535,893 N.E.2d 77 (2008). Appearing on behalf of a firefighter who was originally deemed ineligible to take a promotional examination pursuant to G. L. c.31, §59, Attorney Burke was able to overturn an unfavorable agency interpretation in Superior Court and was successfully upheld at the Appeals Court.
- Acting as plaintiff's counsel in a premises liability case, Attorney Burke overcame the defendant's motion for summary judgment and ultimately prevailed with a sizable settlement for his client. Blanchard v. Society for the Preservation of New England Antiquities, 15 Mass.L.Rptr. 390 (2002) was cited in defeat ing the defendant's argument that the non-applicability of the building code prevented a finding of negligence.
- Attorney Burke obtained two separate six-figure settlements on behalf of State Troopers injured in highway accidents.
- Negotiated numerous collective bargaining agreements on behalf of police unions, obtaining increases in wages, health insurance benefits (including GIC negotiations), stipends, and various other beneficial contractual language.
- Favorably pursued or resolved arbitration matters involving such subjects as discipline, G.L. c.41, 111F, court pay, and health insurance.

- Attorney Burke obtained three separate six-figure settlements on behalf of local police officer's for bringing suit under the Massachusetts Whistleblower Act M.G.L. 149, § 185.
- Negotiated numerous collective bargaining agreements on behalf of police unions, obtaining increases in wages, health insurance benefits, stipends, and various other beneficial contractual language.
- Obtained multiple six-figure settlements on behalf of medical professionals under the Massachusetts Healthcare Whistleblower Act.
